We’ve been sorting and delivering Christmas post for our school today.

Great Sleigh Mystery – part 5

Another sack has been found in Missouri, USA. There is a film of it being found on http://sleighmystery.wordpress.com/
After our performance this morning we were keen to get back to the investigation. We were able to cancel out a lot of the countries on our list after some great work by Ophelia and Georgia. Who were using today’s clue

Other countries were crossed off when we discovered they are islands.
Jeya and Isabel were googling zoos when the found this site. It proved to be very useful.

We need to find out more!!!! Maybe some Woodpeckers will do some independent home learning tonight!

Kandinsky inspired trees

We looked at the artwork of a Russian artist called Kandinsky. We liked the painting of the circles inside squares.

We made our own Kandinsky inspired Hertford Learning Trees. They look so good decorating our classroom.

The great Sleigh Mystery – part 4

Today we saw there were some new clues on the Great Sleigh Mystery blog.  http://sleighmystery.wordpress.com/

Clues so far:

• The sleigh is far away – south of the North Pole
• The country has an ‘a’ in its name
• The country borders many other countries
• The population of the country is more that 50 million
• Many people in this country like football
• The country is bigger than England but smaller than Russia
• There is red on this countries flag
• There are 400 zoos in this country

We did some independent learning to see if we can use the clues to find out just where the sleigh could be. You can see all the different ways we used to do our research and now we have a list of possibilities. What does everyone think?

Mia’s 5SC – The End of Term

It is olmost the christmas holaday and I am having lots of fun. I am the main caricta in my christmas play and I am so icsightid. I hav a song to sing that goas like this… my husband died so long agoa now and my children have all left home christmas soon is coming and I’ll be all alown every were around me villigers get redy cocing and cleaning for christmas time I’ll be all alown now noabody around me to shair my christmas wiv hay.

I can’t wait intil christmas! We hav a calinder in woodpecker class and I can’t wait intil it is my tern wiv the calinder!
